Vitae — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, setup
Vitae lets an AI assistant edit a JSON Resume CV, keep language versions aligned, and render a typeset PDF. Sharing stays separate.
claude mcp add --transport http vitae https://vitae.publifye.com/mcpWhat Vitae does
Vitae connects an AI assistant to a CV stored in JSON Resume. You can keep several language editions, export the document, and check where their contents diverge. The service renders two PDF forms: one retains the complete CV, while the public form removes private details.
The server keeps an edit trail for each language. cv_history lists the latest 365 changes, cv_diff compares revisions, and cv_revert restores an earlier state. visibility_set controls publishing, while link_rotate replaces a public address. A fresh CV starts private, and a shared CV is not indexed by search engines.
Vitae exposes 42 tools covering CV management, language checks, history, publishing, and photos. A Publifye account is needed for browser sign-in after connection. Until publishing is explicitly enabled, the CV remains unpublished.
What it helps with
- store a CV in JSON Resume format
- keep multilingual CV editions aligned
- spot missing entries between language versions
- review or roll back CV edits
- produce private and public PDF files
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect my CV and list its available language versions.
- Compare the English and Norwegian CV editions and show missing entries.
- Review the latest CV changes, create a public PDF, and leave publishing disabled.
