What Lexar does

Lexar connects an assistant to consolidated Norwegian statutes and central regulations from Lovdata. Its research tools find documents, read provisions, show document structure and follow links between materials. When a name or citation is ambiguous, Lexar returns candidates instead of silently choosing one.

The corpus also includes preparatory works linked to relevant provisions; these documents can be opened by ID. Lexar provides source text and navigation, not legal advice. It does not cover court decisions, local regulations, English translations or historical consolidated versions. A document’s presence also does not establish that every provision in it is in force.

What it helps with

  • find a Norwegian statute by name or citation
  • check the wording of a specific provision
  • inspect the structure of a legal document
  • locate preparatory works linked to a provision

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find the Norwegian statute referred to in this citation and show possible matches.
  • Read the provision about deadlines and give me its source.
  • Find preparatory works connected to this statute.
