Darash — Bible research MCP server for Claude Code
Darash gives AI agents structured access to Bible translations, Hebrew and Greek grammar, lexicons, and cross-references. Use it to examine original-language passages instead of relying on translated wording alone.
claude mcp add --transport http darash https://darash-api.publifye.com/mcpWhat Darash does
Darash connects an AI coding assistant to a structured biblical research corpus. Its tools retrieve passages, compare translations, inspect original-language vocabulary, and locate related verses. The collection covers 59 translations across 36 languages, alongside reference material drawn from 13 dictionaries.
Original-language queries can return grammatical details such as a verb's voice, person, and stem. The server can also check whether a Strong's number actually occurs in a particular verse. Dictionary provenance matters here: entries carry information about their printed sources and editions, and their verification status varies. That distinction helps readers judge how much confidence to place in a lexical gloss.
The hosted service uses HTTPS and supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI. Initial OAuth authorization takes place in a browser, with an API-key route available as an alternative. A separate self-hosted binary runs offline without network requests. ELS and Torah-code research tools belong to the self-hosted Engine and are excluded from the hosted service.

Questions about Darash
How do I install Darash in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http darash https://darash-api.publifye.com/mcp. On first use, OAuth authorization opens in your browser.
What does Darash do?
Darash exposes Bible text, original-language grammatical analysis, lexical references, and cross-reference research through MCP tools. It helps an agent verify claims against Hebrew and Greek text rather than treating an English translation as the original.
Can Darash run offline?
The hosted endpoint requires network access. The self-hosted binary can run without network calls, and ELS and Torah-code research tools are available only in that Engine edition.
