The server exposes navigation tools over the Claude source tree: list agent tools, list slash commands, read a specific tool or command implementation, read any file under src/ by relative path, run a regex search, and pull an architecture overview. It also serves resources such as claude-code://tools and claude-code://commands, plus prompts like explain_tool, how_does_it_work and compare_tools.
Three transports are supported: STDIO, Streamable HTTP and legacy SSE. HTTP mode can require a bearer token via MCP_API_KEY. Point the server at your source with CLAUDE_CODE_SRC_ROOT; the default is ../src relative to dist/. Build is the usual npm install followed by npm run build.
Deploying on Vercel is a poor fit for long-lived SSE streams, because those functions are stateless and time-limited. Use Railway or Docker instead. Locally you just need Node and the built dist/index.js.
