NEBROWSER · 0.1.1 PREVIEW
Your own browser.
No new engine.
NeBrowser is Firefox with its own name, icon and AffPapa start page. The familiar web, without a Mozilla account and without the recommendations that come switched on.
macOS 14+ · Apple Silicon · Firefox 153.0.4 · MPL 2.0
What's inside
We kept the browser. We dropped the storefront.
NeBrowser doesn't promise a new web. It's a maintained Firefox base with quieter product settings.
A local profile
Bookmarks, history, passwords and downloads stay the browser tools you already know.
Less of the background storefront
Mozilla Account/Sync, AI surfaces, sponsored tiles, weather and new-tab recommendations are off by default.
The safe base is intact
We left TLS, Safe Browsing, site isolation, private windows, extensions, PDF, history and session restore alone.
A build you can check
The repository holds the overlay, the build scripts, the Firefox version and the SHA-256 of the published archive.

The honest status first.
This is a working test build, not a stable release. Developer ID and Apple notarization for it aren't finished yet.
If macOS blocks the launch, don't switch off the system's protection. Wait for a signed release, or build NeBrowser yourself from the open sources.

What this is, and what it doesn't promise.
NeBrowser is an independent AffPapa product on open Firefox. It isn't connected with Mozilla and isn't endorsed by Mozilla; Firefox and Mozilla are trademarks of the Mozilla Foundation.
The built-in updater is off: updates arrive as separate releases. Until the stable channel, checking the version and the hash by hand is a normal part of the process.
