mcp · blackforge-so — Claude Code MCP server: crypto data and setup
Gives an agent access to BlackForge market data, from historical metrics to live order books. Use it to inspect trading pairs or track a formula against live data.
claude mcp add --env BLACKFORGE_API_KEY=<BLACKFORGE_API_KEY> --env BLACKFORGE_BASE_URL=<BLACKFORGE_BASE_URL> --env BLACKFORGE_REALTIME_URL=<BLACKFORGE_REALTIME_URL> --transport stdio blackforge-so-mcp -- npx -y @blackforge-so/mcpWhat mcp does
The server exposes tools for browsing venues and metric definitions, finding listed pairs, reading the latest completed interval, and fetching time series. An agent can also check recent request counts and remaining monthly row quota. The catalog works without a key; other market-data access uses BLACKFORGE_API_KEY.
Custom formulas and threshold alerts are available on Ultra. Live order-book and market-order pricing tools are offered on Max and Ultra. Streaming a formula with blackforge_formula_watch requires Node 22 or later; the other tools run on Node 20. That runtime requirement matters if you plan to monitor a formula live.
What it helps with
- check which metrics a venue provides
- find trading pairs listed by an exchange
- retrieve a metric's history over a chosen range
- compare best bids and asks across venues
- watch a formula and receive an alert when it crosses a threshold
Example prompts for the agent
- Use
blackforge_catalogto show the available venues and metric definitions. - Find the pairs listed on
binanceand retrieve the latest data forBTCUSDT. - Create a formula comparing the mid prices for
BTCUSDTonbinanceandokx, then watch it.
