Servosity MCP — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects Servosity backup and disaster recovery telemetry to AI agents for client fleet triage.
Open on GitHubWhat Servosity MCP does
This MCP server exposes the Servosity backup and disaster recovery platform to AI coding assistants. A local fleet mirror lets the model inspect status across all client accounts at once, detect stale backup sets, and surface overnight drift without switching between partner portal tabs.
Each tool request executes commands through the companion servosity-cli binary. To authenticate, set the SERVOSITY_MSP_TOKEN environment variable and run servosity-cli doctor. If you deploy the server over HTTP for external tools, setting SERVOSITY_MSP_MCP_HTTP_TOKEN is mandatory, and listening on non-loopback interfaces additionally requires both --tls-cert and --tls-key.
What it helps with
- detect stale client backup sets across the entire fleet
- summarize overnight backup drift for morning triage
- generate cross-client status summaries for partner emails
- inspect disaster recovery posture without browsing the portal
Example prompts for the agent
- Audit client backup sets and list any that have not run recently.
- Check for overnight backup drift across all accounts and draft a summary.
- Run a disaster recovery health check for our MSP client fleet.

Questions about Servosity MCP
How do I install Servosity MCP in Claude Code?
Run /plugin marketplace add Servosity/msp-skills followed by /plugin install servosity@msp-skills. Alternatively, execute bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Servosity/msp-skills/main/skills/servosity/install.sh) to install the required binaries.
What does Servosity MCP do?
It provides tools for investigating client backup health, identifying failed jobs, and pulling fleet telemetry. The agent uses this data to draft client reports and spot synchronization issues.
What prerequisites are needed to run the server?
You need the companion servosity-cli binary installed and a partner token in SERVOSITY_MSP_TOKEN. Remote HTTP setups also mandate SERVOSITY_MSP_MCP_HTTP_TOKEN plus --tls-cert and --tls-key flags for addresses other than loopback.
