What Keploy does

Keploy connects to Claude Code as an MCP server for API and integration testing. It captures application calls to APIs, database requests, and streaming activity, then turns that traffic into replayable test cases and mocks.

The underlying tool observes traffic at the network layer with eBPF, so recording does not require an SDK or code edits. Test input can come from OpenAPI, curl, Postman, or real user flows. Recording depends on starting the application with keploy record, such as keploy record -c "python main.py".

What it helps with

  • generate API tests from an OpenAPI schema
  • turn real application traffic into tests and mocks
  • replay database interactions without provisioning the same infrastructure
  • cover boundary values and invalid field types in API tests

Example prompts for the agent

  • Connect Keploy and create API tests from this project's OpenAPI schema.
  • Record this user flow with Keploy, then replay it as an integration test with mocks.
  • Find the API and database interactions that should be mocked for this test.
