MSPbots MCP — Claude Code MCP server: MSPbots API access
An unofficial MCP server and skill for the MSPbots API: readable filters, alias-named resources, full exports and KPI history. Built for MSP teams pulling metrics into their agent.
Open on GitHubWhat MSPbots MCP does
The server runs locally over stdio. Two binaries land in your user bin path: mspbots-cli for the command line and mspbots-mcp for the MCP layer. Claude, Codex and Cowork pick up the skill from SKILL.md in that directory. Run mspbots-cli --version to confirm the install.
Skip HTTP mode (--transport http) in this build. There is no password, the process binds to every network interface, and the browser-rebinding guard is missing, so a page you open can reach it while the tools act with your credentials. Stay on stdio. If a tunnel for a remote agent is already up, take it down.
ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot and the Gemini app need a remote HTTPS endpoint, which means that same HTTP mode, so those routes are paused. Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Continue.dev and Zed connect locally. To roll the skill out across every supported agent at once, run npx skills add Servosity/msp-skills@latest; Node.js is required.
What it helps with
- pull MSPbots metrics into a readable export
- keep KPI history that MSPbots itself drops
- filter records with human-readable conditions
- wire the MSPbots API into a local agent
- confirm the CLI and MCP server installed correctly
Example prompts for the agent
- Show KPI history for our clients over the last month
- Export the full ticket report filtered by status

Questions about MSPbots MCP
How do I install MSPbots MCP in Claude Code?
Add the marketplace and install the plugin: /plugin marketplace add Servosity/msp-skills, then /plugin install mspbots@msp-skills. Authenticate as described in the README and explore with mspbots-cli --help.
What does MSPbots MCP do?
It gives your agent access to the MSPbots API: readable filters, alias-named resources, full exports and KPI history that MSPbots does not keep itself.
Why should I avoid HTTP mode?
In this build it has no password, binds to every network interface and lacks the browser-rebinding guard. Use stdio instead, and shut down any tunnel set up for a remote agent.
