mvp — Claude Code skill: ship a minimum viable product
A skill that walks you through three stages of launching a product: do it by hand, write the process down, then automate. Useful when the first release is due and scope keeps growing.

The skill acts as a business advisor built around minimalist entrepreneurship. Its argument is simple: serve customers manually first, note every step you take, turn those steps into a written process anyone could follow, and only then build software. Automate what you have already proven by hand.
Before any building starts, the skill asks four questions. Can this ship in a weekend? Does it make a customer's life slightly better? Will someone pay? Can you get feedback fast? Then it narrows the product down: one function, no polish, paid from day one, assembled from tools you already have — Carrd, Gumroad, Stripe, Airtable, Google Forms, Zapier, Notion. The do-not-build list covers features saved for later, groundwork for scale you don't have, a mobile app where a site would do, and code where a spreadsheet is enough.
What you get at the end is five decisions: the single thing your MVP does, the simplest way to implement it, what ships this weekend, the opening price, and how feedback gets collected. A pre-launch checklist covers the name, a domain, a basic site, social accounts, payments, and an email address for customers. If you would rather start coding than test demand by hand, this skill will keep slowing you down — that is the point.
What it helps with
- cut a product idea down to something shippable in a weekend
- document a manual process so someone else can run it
- decide which tasks to automate and which to keep manual
- set a first price instead of giving the product away
- work through a launch checklist: name, domain, site, payments, email
Example prompts for the agent
- Help me define the one thing my MVP does and what I can ship this weekend
- Break my manual process into steps and tell me what is worth automating
- Run my idea through the four build questions and suggest what to cut

What does the mvp skill do?
It guides you through three stages of a product launch: manual work, a documented process, automation. Along the way it helps trim scope, pick a price, and set up feedback collection.
Which platforms support mvp?
Besides Claude, there are install paths for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. GitHub Copilot uses a different command: gh skill install slavingia/skills mvp.
