gws-script-push — Claude Code skill: what it does, how to install
Uploads local files to a Google Apps Script project. Use it when your changes are ready in a working directory and need to be pushed to the project.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill gws-script-push -a claude-codeWhat gws-script-push does
This skill runs gws script +push --script to upload a local directory to an Apps Script project. The --script flag is required, while --dir selects the script directory; without it, the current directory is used.
It handles .gs, .js, .html, and appsscript.json files. Hidden files and node_modules are skipped automatically. The command replaces every file in the target project, so confirm the action and check the Script Project ID before running it.
The gws binary and authentication described in gws-shared/SKILL.md are required. Install it for direct publishing from a local Apps Script directory; it does not fit partial file updates.
What it helps with
- upload local files to an Apps Script project
- push scripts from the current directory
- select
./srcas the upload directory - skip hidden files and
node_modules - replace project files through a Script Project ID
Example prompts for the agent
- Upload the current directory to the Apps Script project with ID `SCRIPT_ID`.
- Push files from `./src` to project `SCRIPT_ID` with `gws script +push`.
- Confirm that every project file will be replaced, then run `gws script +push --script SCRIPT_ID --dir ./src`.
