blucli — Claude skill: control BluOS players from the CLI
This skill gives your agent the blu command for Bluesound and NAD players: discovery, playback, grouping and volume.
npx skills add openclaw/openclaw --skill blucli -a claude-codeWhat blucli does
The skill teaches the agent to drive BluOS players through the blu CLI. Start with blu devices to pick a target, then control playback. The target comes from --device, the BLU_DEVICE variable, or a config default, in that order of priority.
Playback is blu play, blu pause, blu stop. Volume is blu volume set 15. Grouping runs through blu group status|add|remove, and TuneIn search and playback through blu tunein search and blu tunein play. Add --json when you want script-friendly output.
You need the blu binary on your machine, installed with Go: go install github.com/steipete/blucli/cmd/blu@latest. Confirm the target device before you change playback, or the command lands on the wrong speaker. Worth installing if you actually own Bluesound or NAD gear. No BluOS players, no reason to bother.
What it helps with
- discover BluOS players on the network and pick one
- pause or stop playback on a specific player
- set volume on the device you mean
- group players together or break a group apart
- search TuneIn and start a station
Example prompts for the agent
- Run `blu devices` and list my BluOS players.
- Set volume to 15 on the device in `BLU_DEVICE`.
- Search TuneIn for "jazz" and play it in the kitchen.

Use `blu` to control Bluesound/NAD players.
Quick start
- `blu devices` (pick target)
- `blu --device <id> status`
- `blu play|pause|stop`
- `blu volume set 15`
Target selection (in priority order)
- `--device <id|name|alias>`
- `BLU_DEVICE`
- config default (if set)
Common tasks
- Grouping: `blu group status|add|remove`
- TuneIn search/play: `blu tunein search "query"`, `blu tunein play "query"`
Prefer `--json` for scripts. Confirm the target device before changing playback.
