Scope (Legal) — Claude Code MCP server
This MCP server sends legal work to credentialed professionals and returns pricing from their rate cards. Use it when an AI workflow needs outside legal services.
claude mcp add --transport http legal https://scope.bid/api/mcp/legalWhat Scope (Legal) does
Scope (Legal) lets an AI assistant dispatch a legal matter to professionals such as court reporters, experts, mediators, translators, and other service providers. Their prices come back from the rate card each professional has published.
The legal namespace includes matter dispatch, matter and category lookup, vendor and roster lists, daily briefings, credential alerts, and spend views. It also provides actions for awarding matters, changing vendor tiers, auditing the roster, and handling existing Scope Work Protocol sessions.
You can connect over HTTP without a local package, or run npx -y @scope-bid/scope-mcp through an MCP client. SCOPE_API_TOKEN is required for write operations, while read-only demo use can work without it. Without the token, changes to matters and other write actions are unavailable.
What it helps with
- send a legal matter to outside professionals
- retrieve prices from vendor rate cards
- review open matters and available categories
- audit vendor credentials and roster status
- award a matter to a selected vendor
Example prompts for the agent
- Send this legal matter to suitable professionals and show the prices from their rate cards.
- Give me the daily briefing for all open matters.
- List the current roster and flag credential alerts.
