Cleanor — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Cleanor gives coding agents tools for image processing and deterministic developer tasks. Use it to optimize an image, format JSON, or inspect a cron expression.
claude mcp add --transport http cleanor https://mcp.cleanor.app/mcpWhat Cleanor does
Cleanor exposes tools to re-encode images from public URLs, create SVG placeholders, and generate QR codes. It also provides storage and image-format figures, plus utilities such as JSON formatting, UUID generation, and unit conversion. Tool responses include structured data.
Connect to the hosted server over HTTP without an API key, account, or OAuth flow. A local npm option is available; local image encoding uses the optional sharp dependency. The image optimizer accepts inputs up to 25 MB. One limitation matters: jwt_decode reads a token’s header and payload but does not verify its signature, so it cannot establish that the token is authentic.
What it helps with
- shrink an image fetched from a public URL
- create an SVG placeholder or QR code
- validate and format JSON
- generate a hash, HMAC, or UUID
- convert a value between measurement units
Example prompts for the agent
- Optimize this image from its public URL and report the before-and-after sizes.
- Check this JSON, format it, and sort its keys.
- Explain this cron expression and list its upcoming run times.
