50heads — Claude Code MCP server: ask fifty people from your agent
An MCP server that lets your coding agent put a five-second question to fifty verified people and read their answers without leaving the editor.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.50heads.com/mcpWhat 50heads does
The server exposes nine tools, and every one takes an action. Pricing and balance sit in estimate, and its quote action costs nothing and spends no credits. ask puts a question to fifty heads or to your own audience, uploads an image, or builds a link someone presses to answer. results pulls the answers back, while organization, audit, questions, projects, webhooks and help cover the rest. Permissions follow actions rather than tools: a grant missing the scope for one action gets insufficient_scope on that action alone, so a read-only connection cannot reach anything that writes.
You have two ways to connect. The hosted endpoint https://mcp.50heads.com/mcp speaks Streamable HTTP, asks you to sign in with OAuth in the browser and installs nothing, and the same sign-in sets the connection's daily spend cap. The local route npx -y @50heads/mcp is a stdio server for hosts that start a command; it wants Node 20 or newer plus an API key. Create the key on the Developers page of the dashboard — it begins with fh_live_ and you get one look at it. Running npx -y @50heads/mcp login once skips the key and keeps the token in the macOS Keychain or the Linux Secret Service, falling back to a mode 600 file.
When both are present, FIFTYHEADS_API_KEY overrides the saved sign-in. Before spending anything, run estimate with quote: the check is free.
What it helps with
- test a name on fifty people before launch
- see what a question costs in credits
- read survey answers from inside the editor
- share a link a person answers with one tap
- limit a connection to read-only actions
Example prompts for the agent
- Use 50heads to ask fifty people which of these two names sounds better
- Get a 50heads quote for a poll about the logo choice
- Pull the answers to my last 50heads question

Questions about 50heads
How do I install 50heads in Claude Code?
Add the hosted server with claude mcp add --transport http 50heads https://mcp.50heads.com/mcp, then run /mcp and sign in with OAuth. CI and scripts use the same URL with an Authorization: Bearer fh_live_… header.
What does 50heads do?
It sends a short question to fifty verified people and brings their replies back to your agent. The tools also price a survey, show your credit balance and fetch the answers.
Does 50heads need an API key?
The hosted server works with OAuth alone. The local npx -y @50heads/mcp server needs Node 20 or newer and an API key, or a one-time login instead.
