2extract — Claude Code MCP server: proxies and geo targeting
Lets an agent spin up residential and mobile proxies, target down to city or carrier, cap traffic and pull spend reports.
claude mcp add --transport http 2extract https://mcp.2extract.com/mcpWhat 2extract does
2extract runs as a hosted MCP server. Nothing goes on your machine: the client talks to https://mcp.2extract.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP and passes the key in an Authorization: Bearer 2xt_... header.
The exposed tools cover balance and deposit history, country, region, city, ZIP and carrier lookups, plan prices, and proxy lifecycle. Creating a proxy through createProxyResource is billable; description, status, geo, whitelist and limits change through updateProxyResource.
You generate the key in the 2extract dashboard and pick scopes: proxies:read, proxies:write, balance:read, stats:read, geo:read. Write access does not carry read access, so most workflows need both proxies:read and proxies:write. A read-only key covers reporting and lookups.
What it helps with
- create a proxy tied to a specific city or ZIP code
- find mobile carriers available for targeting
- check remaining funds and deposit history
- total up traffic and spend for a period
- adjust limits or a whitelist on an existing proxy
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a residential proxy in Berlin and cap its traffic
- How much did we spend on proxies last week?
- Which mobile carriers can I target in this country?

Questions about 2extract
How do I install 2extract in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http 2extract https://mcp.2extract.com/mcp. The key goes in an Authorization: Bearer 2xt_your_api_key header.
What does 2extract do?
It gives an agent control over residential and mobile proxies: geo targeting down to city, ZIP or carrier, traffic and spend limits, plus usage and cost reporting.
What does 2extract need to work?
An API key from the 2extract dashboard with the right scopes. Write scopes exclude read access, so you usually need proxies:read and proxies:write together.
