mcp-adyen — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connect an AI coding client to Adyen Checkout API v71 for payments, refunds, disputes, and hosted payment links. Useful when Adyen is part of the flow.
claude mcp add --env ADYEN_API_KEY=<ADYEN_API_KEY> --env ADYEN_MERCHANT_ACCOUNT=<ADYEN_MERCHANT_ACCOUNT> --env ADYEN_ENV=<ADYEN_ENV> --env ADYEN_LIVE_URL_PREFIX=<ADYEN_LIVE_URL_PREFIX> --transport stdio adyen -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-adyenWhat mcp-adyen does
mcp-adyen exposes 25 tools for Adyen operations. An agent can create and complete payment flows, capture or cancel authorized payments, issue full or partial refunds, adjust an unsettled amount, and query payment methods for a country, currency, and amount. It also handles hosted payment links, saved payment methods, donations, and Checkout sessions.
The server includes dispute actions for accepting a case, defending it with an accepted reason code, and sending a supporting document. Other tools cover balance accounts, transfers, and merchant accounts visible to the credential. Set ADYEN_API_KEY and ADYEN_MERCHANT_ACCOUNT before launch; ADYEN_ENV=test is the default. Live requests require ADYEN_LIVE_URL_PREFIX, and they fail when that value is missing.
What it helps with
- create an Adyen payment
- capture or refund a transaction
- generate a hosted payment link
- submit a dispute defense
- start a balance account transfer
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a payment for the current order and return the authorization result.
- List payment methods for this country, currency, and order amount.
- Defend this dispute and upload the supporting document.
