What CCXT does

The server runs locally over stdio without third-party relays. Your exchange credentials stay on your drive and never pass into prompt context. Tools identify endpoints strictly by assigned account aliases.

Out of the box, the server only returns public market data like order books, tickers, and OHLCV bars. Private reads, trading, and fund transfers require explicit opt-in flags inside config.json. Live trade placement fails unless marked with trading: "live".

Setup requires Node.js 18 or newer. To mitigate unexpected execution risk, the configuration lets you enforce dollar caps per transaction alongside strict symbol allowlists.

What it helps with

  • fetch live tickers, depth books, and OHLCV bars across crypto exchanges
  • inspect wallet balances and open positions without exposing keys to prompts
  • create, update, and cancel trade orders with required confirmation
  • restrict execution risk via notional order limits and symbol allowlists

Example prompts for the agent

  • Fetch the latest BTC/USDT order book from Binance
  • Check the current account balances on binance-main
  • Show recent prediction market events on Polymarket
