What tasks-setup does

This skill walks through preparing a task board in Notion. To start a new one, the user duplicates a template into their workspace and shares the copy’s URL. For an existing board, the skill asks for its link and inspects the structure with Notion MCP.

It checks for task-related properties such as Status and Title, then suggests additions if needed. Once the board is set up, it confirms access through Notion MCP. The user can then move on to tasks-build for a task or tasks-explain-diff for documentation about code changes. Inspecting an existing board requires access through Notion MCP.

What it helps with

  • create a Notion task board from a template
  • connect an existing board using its URL
  • check whether a board has task-tracking properties
  • find out which properties a board still needs

Example prompts for the agent

  • Set up a Notion task board from a template and help me connect it.
  • Inspect my Notion board and suggest any missing task properties.
  • Check that you can access my task board so I can use tasks-build.
