What tasks-explain-diff does

The skill inspects specified file diffs or the latest edits from the active chat session. It then drafts a multi-part Notion entry covering background system context, core logic explained via toy data, and specific file references with line numbers. Where relevant, it includes Mermaid charts to clarify architecture decisions.

Each generated document includes manual QA steps and a five-question interactive quiz inside toggle blocks. Publishing requires an active Notion MCP server so the assistant can create the document and return a shareable URL. Without Notion MCP configured, page export will fail.

What it helps with

  • document recent repository changes directly in Notion
  • produce manual QA steps alongside code walkthroughs
  • explain refactoring logic to teammates using toy examples
  • build a quick comprehension quiz around updated logic

Example prompts for the agent

  • Explain the latest code edits and export the walkthrough to Notion
  • Document the diff from the billing refactor as a Notion page using tasks-explain-diff
  • Create a Notion document breaking down recent changes with diagrams and a quiz
