recipe-batch-invite-to-event — Claude Code skill: install
Adds a list of attendees to an existing Google Calendar event and sends notifications. Use it when several people need an invitation from the CLI.
npx skills add googleworkspace/cli --skill recipe-batch-invite-to-event -a claude-codeWhat recipe-batch-invite-to-event does
This skill adds a list of attendees to an existing Google Calendar event and sends them notifications. It first fetches the event with gws calendar events get, then updates attendees through gws calendar events patch with sendUpdates: "all". A final get request verifies the attendee list.
It requires the gws binary and the gws-calendar skill. The recipe uses the primary calendar, the event eventId, and attendee email addresses. It can be installed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode.
Install it when you need to add several invitees to an existing Google Calendar event through the CLI. A different calendar or notification flow calls for adapting the recipe.
What it helps with
- add several attendees to an existing Google Calendar event
- send update notifications to new invitees
- fetch an event by its
eventId - verify attendees after patching the event
Example prompts for the agent
- Add Alice, Bob, and Carol to the event with `eventId` `EVENT_ID` and send them notifications.
- Fetch the event from the `primary` calendar, add the provided emails to `attendees`, then verify the result.
- Run `recipe-batch-invite-to-event` for an existing Google Calendar event.
