What ipd-skill does

ipd-skill calls the public IPD query API through scripts/rest_request.py. It supports the allele, cell, and allele/download paths, reads one JSON object from stdin, and returns compact records, a summary, or the start of a text response. HLA allele browsing uses project=HLA, while limit can keep the result set small.

The default output is a concise markdown summary. Raw JSON or text is returned only when requested; save_raw and raw_output_path control saving the original response. Requests can also include parameters, headers, a body, a record path, and limits for depth or item count.

Python and scripts/rest_request.py need to be available before use. Without that script, the IPD requests cannot run.
