What wellness-nourish does

The server connects nutrition logging and food analysis tools to your assistant. It handles barcode lookups, hydration records, and macro estimates from text meal descriptions or photos. Remote lookups query USDA and Open Food Facts, with extra support for the Brazilian TACO 4 table.

Communication defaults to standard input and output (stdio). If you prefer a local network service, it supports an optional loopback HTTP mode on http://127.0.0.1:3000. User logs and auth tokens never leave your system.

Without network access, the server relies on NOURISH_FIXTURE_MODE=1 to switch from external APIs to bundled fixture files.

What it helps with

  • look up nutritional data using product barcodes
  • log meals and water consumption without cloud accounts
  • estimate macros from text food descriptions
  • test nutrition workflows offline using built-in fixtures

Example prompts for the agent

  • Search the nutrition database for raw oats and show macro values.
  • Log two scrambled eggs, a banana, and black coffee for breakfast.
  • Look up barcode 011110038334 and calculate the calories for one serving.
