TakoCode — Claude Code MCP server: build and publish web apps
Wires TakoCode's hosted coding agent into your assistant. You hand over one goal, it returns a working web app with a preview and a public link.
claude mcp add --transport http takocode https://takocode.com/api/mcpWhat TakoCode does
TakoCode is a platform for building apps with AI. This MCP server is remote, so nothing runs on your machine — the work happens on TakoCode's side and your client just sends requests. It speaks Streamable HTTP and authenticates with OAuth 2.0 against your TakoCode account.
Builds happen in turns. You send a single goal with start_turn, the agent writes the project, and you poll check_turn for progress — that start-and-poll shape keeps long jobs alive through client timeouts and dropped connections. From there the assistant can grab a link to the running preview, pull the source down as a ZIP, push it to a connected GitHub account, or deploy it to a permanent address. Project lists, wallet balance and deployment status are reachable too.
Spending stays with the human. Topping up the wallet and buying a domain return Stripe checkout links that only a person can finish, and publishing needs explicit approval. You need a TakoCode account to start: a $10/mo membership plus prepaid credits, billed per build turn.
The /api/mcp/chatgpt surface drops top_up_wallet and buy_domain — ChatGPT directory rules forbid plugins from selling credits and domains. Builds and publishing draw on credits already on the account on both surfaces.
What it helps with
- build a full-stack app from a single written goal
- open a live preview before going public
- download the project source as a ZIP
- push project code to a connected GitHub account
- deploy an app to a permanent public URL
Example prompts for the agent
- Build me an expense tracker and show the preview
- Check how the build is going and what it cost
- Publish the project to a permanent URL
