What Steam (read-only) does

This server supplies 41 tools, 5 prompts, and 2 resources for querying Steam data. It remains strictly read-only. It never enters account credentials, launches binaries, initiates trades, or buys items.

You can use 19 tools immediately without any API key. The assistant queries storefront entries, live player counts, recent reviews, and Steam Deck verification tiers. To inspect personal libraries and friend lists, set STEAM_API_KEY.

Account queries fail if the target Steam profile is private. Passing STEAM_USER saves time by defaulting personal lookups to your own profile name.

What it helps with

  • find co-op titles owned by you and online friends
  • inspect Steam Deck verification and test results
  • track storefront sales, tags, and review trends
  • inspect backlog hours and abandoned games in a library
  • check global and personal achievement unlock percentages

Example prompts for the agent

  • Which co-op games are currently discounted under $20?
  • Check if Hades II is verified for Steam Deck.
  • What multiplayer games do my online friends and I both own?
