Nova3D — Claude Code MCP server: part-aware 3D builds
Turns a prompt into 3D models and scenes with named parts: a GLB, a preview link and a Blender script. Useful when an agent has to build an object piece by piece.
claude mcp add --env NOVA3D_TOKEN=<NOVA3D_TOKEN> --env NOVA3D_APP_URL=<NOVA3D_APP_URL> --transport stdio mcp -- uvx nova3d-mcpWhat Nova3D does
Nova3D hands the agent tools for 3D assembly. What comes back is a GLB whose parts carry names, a preview URL and a Blender script. You can split the model into components, adjust dimensions and materials, rewire how parts connect, then rebuild.
Parameters drive the whole thing: you decide which values shift between alternatives and which stay put. Geometry and motion checks cover dimensions, pivots and collisions between parts. Dedicated export paths push a design into CAD tools, 3D applications and robotics simulators.
A token is required. The server runs as uvx nova3d-mcp with NOVA3D_TOKEN set, and some configs also pass NOVA3D_APP_URL. No token means no connection, so get one first.
What it helps with
- build a GLB with named parts from a single description
- resize or rematerial a part without rebuilding the whole model
- check pivots and collisions before export
- push a scene into a robotics simulator
- keep scene source and parameters across versions
Example prompts for the agent
- Build a greenhouse with the frame, the beds and the moisture sensor as separate parts
- Make a second version of that greenhouse with two beds and a different frame material
- Check whether any parts intersect, then export the scene for the simulator
How to install Nova3D
Platform CLI
claude mcp add --env NOVA3D_TOKEN=<NOVA3D_TOKEN> --env NOVA3D_APP_URL=<NOVA3D_APP_URL> --transport stdio mcp -- uvx nova3d-mcpReplace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from nova3d-mcp <command>
Platform CLI

Questions about Nova3D
How do I install Nova3D in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add nova3d -e NOVA3D_TOKEN=<NOVA3D_TOKEN> -- uvx nova3d-mcp. For a custom app URL, use the variant with --env NOVA3D_APP_URL=<NOVA3D_APP_URL> and --transport stdio.
What does Nova3D do?
It generates 3D models and scenes from a description and returns a GLB with named parts, a preview link and a Blender script. Parts stay editable one by one.
What does the server need to run?
A NOVA3D_TOKEN and the uvx nova3d-mcp command. The Claude and Codex configs also pass NOVA3D_APP_URL.
