What SpriteCook does

Once connected, the MCP server lets an agent create game art, such as a character sheet or icons with transparent backgrounds. It can also work with a local image, removing its background or making an animation from a character asset.

Run npx spritecook-mcp setup to detect installed clients and configure their MCP connection. The setup can also add an optional agent skill. You can configure the server manually in an editor instead. Some clients require an API key for authentication, so those connections depend on having one available.

What it helps with

  • create a pixel-art weapon sprite
  • make a character sheet for a platform game
  • generate icons with transparent backgrounds
  • remove a background from a local character image

Example prompts for the agent

  • Create a 64x64 pixel-art sword sprite.
  • Make a sprite sheet for the character in my platform game.
  • Remove the background from my local boss image and animate it with a slow idle motion.
