ShipStatic — Claude Code MCP server: publish sites fast
Puts a static site or landing page online straight from your agent and hands back a shareable link. No account, no API key.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.shipstatic.comWhat ShipStatic does
ShipStatic is a remote MCP server at https://mcp.shipstatic.com. Your agent uploads the files, and you get a URL you can send to someone right away. A site stays up for 3 days; opening the claim link keeps it permanently.
Fifteen tools sit behind that one address. Only deployments_upload answers without an account. The other fourteen wake up once you sign in on the hosted endpoint or set SHIP_TOKEN for a local run. With an account you also get deployment listings, custom domains with DNS verification, and whoami. Need the site private? Ask for the built-in password protection — saying “built-in” stops the agent from writing its own password page.
deployments_upload takes an idempotencyKey and a ttl. The key matters when a deploy times out: retry without one and you get a second site, retry with the same key and you get the first one back. Key the attempt, not each retry — a key that changes every time does nothing. A ttl in seconds makes the deployment delete itself, which suits previews you would otherwise forget about. It needs an account, and an anonymous deploy carrying a ttl is refused. A deployment with a ttl cannot be linked to a domain. Running locally means npx -y @shipstatic/mcp and Node.js 20.19 or newer.
What it helps with
- put a built landing page online and get a link
- share a prototype without uploading it by hand
- hide a preview behind a password
- attach a custom domain and check the DNS records
- list deployments and clean up the old ones
Example prompts for the agent
- Publish the
distfolder with ShipStatic and give me the link - Put this prototype online with built-in password protection
- List my deployments and delete the oldest one

Questions about ShipStatic
How do I install ShipStatic in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http shipstatic https://mcp.shipstatic.com. The tools then show up for your agent.
What does ShipStatic do?
It publishes static files and returns a live URL. Uploading works without an account; deployment and domain management need one.
Why does idempotencyKey matter?
After a timeout you cannot tell whether the site was created. Sending the same key on the retry returns that site instead of making another one.
