ScreensDesign — Claude Code MCP server: features and setup
Research mobile apps, onboarding flows, paywalls, and App Store reviews through an MCP connection. Use it to compare competitors or find screens that resemble a reference image.
claude mcp add --transport http screensdesign https://api.screensdesign.com/v1/mcpWhat ScreensDesign does
ScreensDesign gives an agent research tools for mobile apps. It can locate competitors, show captured screens and recorded user journeys, surface App Store reviews, and search for visual matches to an image. Revenue and download estimates appear where available; saved app collections can also be brought into a conversation.
Connect the hosted server to an MCP client over Streamable HTTP, then authenticate through a browser-based OAuth flow. MCP access comes with ScreensDesign Pro, so an account with that plan is required. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http screensdesign https://api.screensdesign.com/v1/mcp, followed by claude mcp login screensdesign.
The optional screensdesign-data skill adds research guidance but is not required for the server to work. It helps agents check replay context and distinguish observed interface details from interpretation. Revenue or download figures are signals, not evidence that an app converts.
What it helps with
- find competing apps by category or product positioning
- compare onboarding screen sequences and paywall placement
- locate interface screens resembling a supplied image
- summarize recurring complaints in public App Store reviews
- compare the messaging used in App Store marketing screenshots
Example prompts for the agent
- Compare competitor onboarding flows and show where each app places its paywall.
- Find apps related to my sleep-app concept and summarize recurring themes in their App Store reviews.
- Search for app screens resembling this image and compare their navigation patterns.
