QuoteWerks MCP — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Connects AI coding agents to QuoteWerks Web to inspect and reprice quotes while previewing writes before applying them.
Open on GitHubWhat QuoteWerks MCP does
The server links AI agents directly to the QuoteWerks Web API using native column schemas. Instead of sending raw queries blindly, it queries a local data mirror. This setup evaluates margins and deal win rates directly on your machine.
Write operations require a typed preview step. You inspect changes before anything updates in QuoteWerks. The bundle installs both the quotewerks-mcp server binary and the quotewerks-cli command-line utility.
Running HTTP transport mode via --transport http is unsafe right now because this build lacks request size and timeout limits. Keep the integration on standard input and output (stdio) to prevent unauthorized network calls.
What it helps with
- Draft and adjust quote pricing with typed previews
- Calculate gross margins and win rates against a local data mirror
- Search QuoteWerks Web documents directly inside agent sessions
Example prompts for the agent
- Fetch the latest draft quote for the client and preview price adjustments
- Check our current pipeline margin and win rate report in QuoteWerks

It allows agents to inspect QuoteWerks Web quotes, generate margin reports, and preview document updates before committing changes.
Why should you avoid HTTP transport mode?
Current releases do not enforce payload size limits or request timeouts on --transport http, making stdio the only safe connection method.
