quanttogo-mcp — Claude Code MCP server: risks and setup
This MCP server checks downside risk for stocks, industries, ETFs and funds, then watches for changes after the market close.
claude mcp add quanttogo-mcp -- npx -y quanttogo-mcpWhat quanttogo-mcp does
quanttogo-mcp connects an AI coding client to QuantToGo’s remote risk service. For a selected asset, it returns the chance of a drop of at least 15% within three months, the base and historical rates, safe-zone status, overheating level and red-light state. It also exposes three stop-line choices based on volatility bands: 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0.
Its tools can test the reasons behind a holding, show market and industry conditions, review earlier red lights and produce a read-only industry evidence card. A risk order is checked again after each close, with updates sent when its state changes. The npm package is a stdio bridge to https://mcp.quanttogo.com/v2; the tool list is loaded when the process starts.
A phone number is required to create or inspect risk orders, and the account is shared with the QuantToGo website. In Claude Code, install it with claude mcp add quanttogo-mcp -- npx -y quanttogo-mcp. Platforms that use the older transport can connect through https://mcp.quanttogo.com/v2/sse.
What it helps with
- check downside odds for a selected asset
- test the reasons behind a current holding
- open and monitor a risk order
- inspect market overheating and industry red lights
- review whether earlier red lights preceded declines
Example prompts for the agent
- Check the three-month risk for my ETF.
- Which industries are overheated right now, and which ones have a red light?
- Open a risk order for my position; the reason is that the valuation looks too high.
