plateau-creative-mcp — MCP server for PLATEAU 3D cities
Pulls Tokyo neighbourhoods from Project PLATEAU, lets the agent reshape them, and hands off a .glb to Blender, Unity or Unreal.
claude mcp add plateau-creative-mcp -- npx -y @yodolabs/plateau-creative-mcpWhat plateau-creative-mcp does
The server opens with download_area: it resolves a city slug against the plateau-bridge artifact index, checks the sha256 of the archive and unpacks buildings.parquet plus manifest.json. Each city is fetched once and cached under PLATEAU_ARTIFACT_DIR. Then load_area builds a scene from a city, a bbox and an LOD.
Editing is a set of separate calls. filter_buildings queries building IDs by height, construction year, use, zoning or flood depth; delete_buildings marks buildings as gone; extrude_buildings multiplies their height. export_glb writes real geometry into a single .glb, and render_via_blender can forward the scene to a BlenderMCP-compatible HTTP server over JSON-RPC.
Single-file export has a size ceiling, so large districts need splitting. Downloaded bundles carry no 3D Tiles, which means full-geometry export of bigger areas requires a local tile build. Attribution travels with every result: it lands in the GLB extras and in a LICENSE.txt beside it, and derived assets must keep it. Node 20 or newer is required.
What it helps with
- load a Tokyo block from PLATEAU into an agent scene
- select buildings by height, year and use
- remove skyscrapers to test a counterfactual city block
- scale building heights by a factor
- export the scene as a
.glbfor Blender or Unity
Example prompts for the agent
- Download the
shibuyaarea and load it into a fresh scene - Keep only buildings taller than 40 metres and export the result as
.glb - Link the buildings to nearby OpenStreetMap POIs

Questions about plateau-creative-mcp
How do I install plateau-creative-mcp in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add plateau-creative-mcp -- npx -y @yodolabs/plateau-creative-mcp. The server then runs over stdio and pulls city bundles on demand.
What does plateau-creative-mcp do?
It exposes Project PLATEAU city data as tools: load an area, filter and edit buildings, then write the scene out as glTF.
Do I have to clone the data pipeline?
No. download_area fetches a prebuilt bundle from the public plateau-bridge index, verifies its checksum and caches it locally.
