NodeMaven — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Builds geo-targeted NodeMaven proxy strings, tests live connections and checks remaining account bandwidth.
claude mcp add nodemaven-mcp -e NODEMAVEN_APIKEY=<NODEMAVEN_APIKEY> -- uvx nodemaven-mcpWhat NodeMaven does
This integration connects an assistant to residential proxies without modifying account resources. The agent generates HTTP or SOCKS5 endpoints targeted by country, region, city, or network provider. It also configures sticky session durations.
Available tools allow the assistant to test latency via check_proxy, inspect exit IPs, and pull location identifiers. For usage tracking, it reads account balances, sub-user limits, and per-domain data consumption. Sensitive credentials stay protected: passwords appear masked as <PROXY_PASSWORD> to avoid spilling secrets into the chat context.
Execution relies on uvx or a local pip installation of the Python package. Without a valid NODEMAVEN_APIKEY, the server will refuse to operate. Default credentials load via the dashboard key, though custom sub-user logins can be supplied through environment variables.
What it helps with
- generate proxy endpoints for specific regions or ISPs
- verify exit IP addresses and test connection latency
- check current subscription status and traffic balance
- inspect bandwidth usage broken down by visited domains
Example prompts for the agent
- Generate an HTTP proxy string targeted to Berlin with a ten-minute sticky session.
- Run check_proxy on our active endpoint and show me the exit IP.
- Check how much traffic remains on my NodeMaven account.
How to install NodeMaven
Platform CLI
claude mcp add nodemaven-mcp -e NODEMAVEN_APIKEY=<NODEMAVEN_APIKEY> -- uvx nodemaven-mcpReplace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from nodemaven-mcp <command>

Questions about NodeMaven
How do I install NodeMaven in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add nodemaven-mcp -e NODEMAVEN_APIKEY=<NODEMAVEN_APIKEY> -- uvx nodemaven-mcp in your terminal. Replace <NODEMAVEN_APIKEY> with your dashboard key.
What does the NodeMaven MCP server do?
It provides read-only tools to build proxy strings, query targeting codes, and monitor bandwidth consumption. The model can inspect connection latency and exit IPs directly.
Are proxy passwords exposed in conversation logs?
No, the server hides credentials behind <PROXY_PASSWORD> by default. You must explicitly configure NODEMAVEN_MCP_REVEAL_PASSWORD=1 if you need plaintext passwords returned.
