What apify-mcp-server does

The server exposes Apify Actors as tools an AI assistant can use for specific jobs. Actors can extract posts from social profiles, contact details from Google Maps, search results, or page content. Some web-fetching tools can render JavaScript and handle anti-bot protection.

Connect over HTTPS with OAuth, or send an Apify token in the Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN> header. For a local stdio setup, run npx @apify/actors-mcp-server and set the APIFY_TOKEN environment variable. The hosted server supports schema inference for structured Actor results; that feature is unavailable with local stdio.

For Claude Code, add the HTTPS server with one command. Local stdio requires an Apify token.
