CloakMCP — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
CloakMCP gives AI agents a Chromium browser for navigation, page interaction, and content extraction, with anti-detection settings enabled by default.
claude mcp add cloakmcp -- uvx cloakbrowsermcpWhat CloakMCP does
CloakMCP connects an AI agent to a patched Chromium browser through MCP. Its tools cover page navigation, waiting, clicks, text entry, dropdowns, keyboard input, page history, JavaScript execution, Markdown extraction, and annotated screenshots. Optional capabilities add network interception, cookie access, PDF output, and console logs through --caps.
The server uses an accessibility snapshot as the main page interface. Interactive nodes receive references such as [@eN], and later actions target those references instead of CSS selectors. Navigation and interaction can return a fresh snapshot after the page settles. In Claude Code, add the server with claude mcp add cloakmcp -- uvx cloakbrowsermcp. The ref-based model is a constraint: CSS selectors are not used for interaction.
What it helps with
- drive browser sessions through anti-detection Chromium
- identify controls from an accessibility snapshot
- click and type by generated element references
- extract readable page content as Markdown
- save a page as PDF with the
pdfcapability
Example prompts for the agent
- Open the page, inspect
cloak_snapshot, and click the requested control using its[@eN]reference. - Navigate to the target URL and return the main content with
cloak_read_page. - Start the browser with PDF access enabled, then save the current page with
cloak_pdf.
