agent-webbridge — Claude Code MCP server
An MCP server that hands your agent the real Chrome window you're signed into: navigation, clicks, forms, screenshots. Runs entirely on your machine.
claude mcp add agent-webbridge -- npx -y agent-webbridgeWhat agent-webbridge does
Your existing sessions, passkeys and 2FA keep working, because the agent talks to the browser you already use instead of a fresh headless instance. Under the hood there's a small Node daemon — ws is the only third-party package — plus an MV3 extension. A command goes from the agent to a local router, the router forwards it to the daemon for the right profile, and the extension hooks the Chrome DevTools protocol to each tab on its own.
Tabs inside one profile execute at the same time; stack several profiles and each gets its own daemon, so the ceiling is profiles times tabs. The toolset covers navigate, snapshot with stable @e refs, click plus trusted_click for pages that reject synthetic events, fill for plain inputs and contenteditable, evaluate, screenshot, save_as_pdf, and network capture. Pick an account with profile, split work across tabs with tabId.
The awb setup "Work" step opens the Chrome Web Store page in the chosen profile and polls until you press “Add to Chrome”, then links that profile to its daemon. Requirements: macOS or Windows, Google Chrome, Node.js 18 or newer. Traffic stays on 127.0.0.1 and nothing leaves your machine; automate only accounts and sites you're allowed to automate.
What it helps with
- Reach a site while signed in, with no second login
- Run five tabs at once instead of one after another
- Fill a rich-text field and stop before submitting
- Save a page as PDF or capture a screenshot to disk
- Record the network requests a page makes during a task
Example prompts for the agent
- Open
https://news.ycombinator.comin the Work profile and take a snapshot - Fill in the search box but don't submit the form
- Take a screenshot and write it to
/tmp/page.png
