Mastercard Developers MCP — Claude Code MCP server: what it does
An MCP server that hands your agent Mastercard Developers docs, API specifications and OAuth guides. Useful when you are wiring up a Mastercard integration and want the right page without hunting for it.
claude mcp add developers-mcp -- npx -y @mastercard/developers-mcpWhat Mastercard Developers MCP does
The server sits between an MCP client and Mastercard Developers resources. Your agent can list the available services, pull operations out of an API specification with their request and response schemas, read documentation pages, and fetch the integration guides for OAuth 1.0a, OAuth 2.0 and Open Finance.
It starts with npx -y @mastercard/developers-mcp and talks over stdio. You can pin it to one service with the --service argument pointing at a documentation URL, or to a single spec via --api-specification. The spec argument wins over the service one, and setting either disables the get-services-list tool. So the agent loses the service listing once you narrow the scope.
Building from the repo needs Node.js 18+. The flow is npm install, then npm run build, then npm run start. To debug, run npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector node dist/index.js.
What it helps with
- find a specific operation in a Mastercard API spec
- check request and response schemas before calling an endpoint
- walk through the OAuth 1.0a integration steps
- read a documentation section for one service
- list the products available on Mastercard Developers
Example prompts for the agent
- List the Mastercard Developers services
- Show me the operations in
openbanking-us.yaml - Open the OAuth 2.0 integration guide for Mastercard APIs

What does Mastercard Developers MCP do?
It gives your agent access to Mastercard Developers documentation, API specifications, and the OAuth 1.0a, OAuth 2.0 and Open Finance integration guides.

The server focuses on that one service or spec, and the get-services-list tool is disabled. --api-specification overrides whatever --service set.
