MagicMarkets — Claude Code MCP server: sports markets in chat
An MCP server that puts live sports prediction market prices, quotes, orders and positions inside your agent session.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://magicmarkets.com/mcpWhat MagicMarkets does
MagicMarkets exposes the v2 prediction market API to an agent. Through MCP tools you can list events that carry prices, pull a quote for a selection, place and manage orders, and check your balance and open positions. The same API ships as a CLI too: one static binary, one API key, no request signing and no private keys.
Every bet takes two steps. A betslip registers interest in a single selection and returns a live quote; it costs nothing. An order then commits a stake against that quote. Betslips expire quickly and hold no price at creation, since the quote arrives asynchronously over the WebSocket — that is what --wait is for.
You need an API key from the settings page on magicmarkets.com, shown once when you create it. Store it in ~/.magicmarkets/.env as MAGICMARKETS_API_KEY. Run magicmarkets status first: a bad key makes the WebSocket fail at the handshake with no useful message. Placing bets through the stdio MCP mode also needs MAGICMARKETS_ALLOW_TRADING, which does nothing on the CLI.
What it helps with
- find events that currently have live prices
- get a quote on a selection before committing
- place an order with a price and stake against a betslip
- check balance and open orders
- map a price onto the tick schedule
Example prompts for the agent
- List football events with live prices, limit to five
- Create a betslip for
for,hon event2026-06-15,1001,2002and wait for the quote - Place an order on betslip

What does MagicMarkets do?
It gives an agent access to sports prediction markets: live prices, quotes, orders and positions. It works as an MCP server and as a standalone CLI.
What is required before an agent can place bets?
An API key plus MAGICMARKETS_ALLOW_TRADING for the magicmarkets mcp mode. Without it, bets through MCP will not go through.
