What SenderKit does

SenderKit ships as one plugin holding three skills. senderkit-integration wires SenderKit into your codebase, or moves an existing email, SMS or push provider onto it. senderkit-mcp-messaging-operations handles sending and inspecting messages at runtime through the MCP connector. senderkit-email-deliverability walks through authenticating a sending domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Messages can go out directly or be routed through Resend, SendGrid, Postmark, Mailgun, SES, Twilio, FCM, APNs or Expo, so you are not tied to one vendor.

The skills fire on plain requests — asking for a welcome email or SMS verification codes is enough, you never have to say the product name. Setup differs per agent: Claude installs from the plugin marketplace, Codex and opencode take the skill folders under ~/.agents/skills/ or ~/.config/opencode/skills/, and Cursor loads the repo as a local plugin. The MCP server lives at https://mcp.senderkit.com and signs in over OAuth, so no key is stored.

An API key path exists for anyone who would rather not use OAuth. The split is worth remembering: integration edits your code, messaging operations act at runtime. Skill files alone will not send anything — the senderkit_* tools only appear once the MCP server is connected.

What it helps with

  • add a welcome email on signup
  • set up SMS OTP and verification codes
  • wire push notifications into a project
  • move an existing sending provider over to SenderKit
  • find out why mail lands in spam and configure DKIM, SPF and DMARC

Example prompts for the agent

  • Add a welcome email when a user signs up
  • Set up SMS verification codes in this project
  • Send a test email and check its delivery status through SenderKit MCP

Questions about SenderKit

How do I install SenderKit in Claude Code?

Add the marketplace first: /plugin marketplace add senderkit/senderkit-skills, then install the plugin: /plugin install senderkit@senderkit-skills. Run /mcp afterwards, sign in, and pick a workspace plus test or live mode.

What does SenderKit do?

It gives your agent a way to send email, SMS, push and web-push and to bake that into your code. The three skills cover integration, runtime messaging and domain deliverability.

Do I need an API key?

The MCP server connects over OAuth by default and stores no key. If you prefer a key instead, that option is available.
