JobYap Job Search — Claude Code MCP server: job search
Hooks your agent up to job postings scraped from company career sites, with salaries, full descriptions and community threads. No account, no API key.
claude mcp add --transport http jobs https://mcp.jobyap.com/mcpWhat JobYap Job Search does
JobYap Job Search is a remote MCP server at https://mcp.jobyap.com/mcp speaking streamable HTTP. It hands your agent live postings collected from company career pages, complete with pay ranges, full write-ups, apply links and discussion threads. Everything is read-only, and you never sign up or paste a key.
There are several tools. search_jobs narrows results by title keywords, employer, location, work format and recency, with cursor pagination. match_jobs screens candidates in a single call: feed it job titles, companies, places, experience, sponsorship requirements and skills, and it returns a ranked shortlist with the requirement wording. That call reads every description, so expect 10 to 15 seconds; reach for search_jobs when you just want to browse. The rest are get_job, get_job_comments, search_locations, list_companies and get_job_stats.
Clients that only speak stdio need the jobyap-mcp bridge run through npx. Cursor and GitHub Copilot take a hand-written config block in their settings file. If your tool has no MCP support at all, the skills/jobyap skill teaches the agent to hit the JSON API with curl instead.
What it helps with
- find postings by job title and city
- build a shortlist for one candidate from experience and skills
- read a full posting with its salary range
- check what people say in a posting's discussion thread
- see which companies are hiring and how many roles are open
Example prompts for the agent
- Find backend developer jobs in Berlin, remote only
- Build me a shortlist: Python, 5 years of experience, visa sponsorship needed
- Show the full posting for this jobyap.com link and its discussion thread
