mcp · krovacloud — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
This MCP server lets Claude Code and other clients provision and operate Krova Cloud Cubes through natural-language requests.
claude mcp add --env KROVA_API_KEY=<KROVA_API_KEY> --env KROVA_SPACE_ID=<KROVA_SPACE_ID> --env KROVA_BASE_URL=<KROVA_BASE_URL> --transport stdio mcp -- npx -y @krovacloud/mcpWhat mcp does
The server exposes Krova Cloud operations to an MCP client. An agent can create Cubes with a selected image and resource size, inspect them, start or stop them, restart running instances, remove them, and enable termination protection. It can also return available regions, OS images, and pricing data.
The client starts the server over stdio with npx -y @krovacloud/mcp, while authentication comes from KROVA_API_KEY. KROVA_SPACE_ID supplies a default Space, and KROVA_BASE_URL can point the client at another API endpoint. The API key is required; creating or deleting a Cube is billable and destructive, so those requests deserve explicit confirmation.
What it helps with
- provision a Cube with a chosen image and size
- inspect Cubes in a Space
- stop an idle virtual machine
- find regions with available capacity
- protect a Cube from termination
Example prompts for the agent
- Create a Cube with an Ubuntu image, 2 vCPUs, and the us region.
- List the Cubes in my Space and show their current states.
- Turn on termination protection for the Cube with this ID.

Questions about mcp
How do I install mcp in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add mcp -e KROVA_API_KEY=<KROVA_API_KEY> -- npx -y @krovacloud/mcp. Claude Code will launch the server through stdio.
What does mcp do?
It gives an MCP client tools for operating Krova Cloud Cubes, including provisioning, inspection, power control, restart, deletion, and termination protection.
What is required for mcp to work?
You need a KROVA_API_KEY. KROVA_SPACE_ID is optional and sets the default Space for Cube operations.
