CloudeIDE — Claude Code MCP server: editor access for agents
An MCP server that hands your coding agent the editor's abilities: code edits, codebase understanding, file management.
claude mcp add --env CLOUDEIDE_TOKEN=<CLOUDEIDE_TOKEN> --env CLOUDEIDE_API_URL=<CLOUDEIDE_API_URL> --transport stdio cloudeide -- npx -y cloudeideWhat CloudeIDE does
CloudeIDE is a code editor with an AI agent inside it. This MCP server exposes the same abilities to an outside agent: editing code, making sense of a codebase, handling files, fixing bugs.
It runs as npx -y cloudeide over stdio. You need a CLOUDEIDE_TOKEN, and some setups also take a CLOUDEIDE_API_URL. No token means no authorization, so grab one from CloudeIDE first.
Setup differs per platform: Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and Gemini CLI each get their own command or JSON block.
What it helps with
- edit project code from inside the agent chat
- get oriented in an unfamiliar codebase
- fix bugs without switching to the editor
- manage project files through the agent
Example prompts for the agent
- Connect the cloudeide MCP server and list the tools it exposes
- Walk me through this project's structure using cloudeide
- Find and fix the bug in the auth module with cloudeide
