MCP server CX Codex

3dstreet — MCP server for Claude Code: edit scenes from your IDE

A relay that bridges Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and other development environments to a 3DStreet browser tab. Through MCP tools, an agent can inspect scenes, add and modify objects, adjust parameters, and manage undo/redo.

What 3dstreet does

3dstreet-mcp is a bridge between your IDE and the browser. It speaks MCP over stdio to Claude and WebSocket to 3DStreet running on localhost. The agent gets access to tools: getScene, entityCreate, entityUpdate, selectEntity, focusCamera, and more. The actual scene lives in a real 3DStreet tab, which owns the catalog and cloud-save flow.

After installation, pair your browser and IDE once. The relay prints an auto-pair URL like https://3dstreet.app/#mcp — open it in a signed-in browser, click "AI Assistant", and the tab connects automatically. Then ask the agent: "Add a bike lane on the left", "What's in the scene?", "Switch to night mode". Use Read-only mode in the status bar to prevent unintended mutations.

The relay binds to 127.0.0.1:51735 and rejects connections from other hosts. No auth tokens flow through WebSocket. Alpha status; supports 8 platforms including Claude Code, Claude Desktop (config-based), Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed, Gemini CLI.

What it helps with

  • drive a street design editor from the IDE without switching tabs
  • fetch the current scene and inspect all objects and components
  • create, update and delete objects, road segments, and properties
  • navigate: select entities and focus the camera on areas
  • undo and redo edits in the scene

Example prompts for the agent

  • What objects are in my current scene? Give me a list.
  • Change the environment preset to night.

Questions about 3dstreet

How do I install 3dstreet in Claude Code?

Run claude mcp add 3dstreet -- npx -y 3dstreet-mcp in your terminal. After IDE restart, the relay starts and prints an auto-pair URL (like https://3dstreet.app/#mcp). Open it in a signed-in browser and the tab pairs automatically.

What does 3dstreet-mcp do?

It's a relay for IDEs without an embedded browser (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor). If your agent already runs inside a browser (ChatGPT Desktop, Chrome 149+ with WebMCP enabled, Gemini in Chrome), open https://3dstreet.app directly — tools register via the browser's native mechanism, no relay needed.

Do I need a 3DStreet account?

Not for creating and editing scenes. Cloud saves and geospatial features require a free account.
