What Katalon True Platform MCP does

The server links your agent to the Katalon True Platform through https://platform.katalon.io/mcp. Instead of inventing dummy data, the agent inspects project requirements, creates atomic test cases, and flags sprint items missing validation. It also turns manual test cases into Playwright scripts and pushes test execution results back to the workspace.

Setup avoids API key management. Initial connection triggers an OAuth browser window to select your workspace directly. Without an active Katalon account and an assigned workspace, platform commands fail immediately.

What it helps with

  • generate manual test cases from task requirements
  • turn recorded test cases into Playwright scripts
  • push test run results back to Katalon
  • check test coverage gaps across sprint requirements

Example prompts for the agent

  • Check requirement CEL-6 and design linked manual test cases
  • Convert test case TC-1042 into an executable Playwright script
  • Identify requirements in the current sprint that lack test coverage
