JobGPT — Claude Code MCP server for job search and auto-apply
Wires your assistant into 6figr: search postings, send applications, build a resume for one job, and message recruiters through 34 tools.
claude mcp add jobgpt-mcp-server -e JOBGPT_API_KEY=<JOBGPT_API_KEY> -- npx -y jobgpt-mcp-serverWhat JobGPT - Job Search Automation & Auto Apply does
JobGPT is the MCP server behind 6figr. Once connected, the assistant gets 34 tools for hunting postings, applying, tailoring a resume, tracking submissions and reaching recruiters. match_jobs hands back only listings you have not seen yet from a hunt you saved before.
Two routes in. Browser login runs OAuth, so no key lands in your config: add https://mcp.6figr.com/mcp, open /mcp, connect, then sign in to 6figr. Otherwise pull a sk_ key from MCP Integrations in your account and pass it as an Authorization header. Running the server locally through npx wants Node.js 18+ installed first.
Auto-apply submits in your own name, which makes the token about as sensitive as your 6figr password. The project ships under MIT.
What it helps with
- search remote roles above a salary floor
- auto-apply to unseen matches in a saved hunt
- tailor a resume to one job posting
- draft outreach to recruiters for a listing
- check how many applications went out recently
Example prompts for the agent
- Find remote senior React jobs paying over $150k
- Build a tailored resume for this posting and list what you changed
- Apply to
<job_url>for me and log it in my tracker

Questions about JobGPT - Job Search Automation & Auto Apply
How do I install JobGPT in Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add jobgpt-mcp-server -e JOBGPT_API_KEY=<JOBGPT_API_KEY> -- npx -y jobgpt-mcp-server. The key starts with sk_ and is generated under MCP Integrations at 6figr.com/account.
What does JobGPT do?
It exposes the 6figr toolset: posting search filtered by salary, location, remote work and H1B sponsorship, plus applications, resumes and recruiter emails.
Do I need an API key to use it?
Not if you sign in through the browser. Adding https://mcp.6figr.com/mcp and approving access gives the client a scoped OAuth token, and the key stays out of the setup entirely.
