IronWallet — Claude Code MCP server: what it does, how to install
Local non-custodial crypto wallet MCP server for checking balances, signing, and swapping tokens without exposing seed phrases.
claude mcp add --env IW_READ_ONLY=<IW_READ_ONLY> --transport stdio mcp-server -- npx -y @ironwallet/mcp-serverWhat IronWallet does
IronWallet connects coding agents to crypto operations on networks like Ethereum and Solana. The assistant can fetch balances and broadcast transfers. Private keystores remain encrypted on your host machine, meaning mnemonic seeds never enter the model context or external logs.
Sensitive actions like imports and backups happen in a loopback browser session on 127.0.0.1. The server does not provide an interactive confirmation prompt per transaction in chat. Run it as a hot wallet with limited funds, or enforce protection using maxPerTxUsd and the IW_READ_ONLY setting. Node.js 20+ is required.
What it helps with
- query native coin and token balances across networks
- sign and broadcast transfers locally
- execute token swaps using fresh quotes
- restrict agent spending with per-transaction USD limits
Example prompts for the agent
- Check my wallet balance on Base
- Estimate the network fee for sending 0.1 ETH
- Show available swap routes from USDC to SOL
