gl-importer-mcp — Claude Code MCP server for QuickBooks and Xero
Import CSV or XLSX accounting records into QuickBooks Online or Xero through the Synder Importer API. An API token is required.
claude mcp add --env IMPORTER_API_TOKEN=<IMPORTER_API_TOKEN> --env IMPORTER_BASE_URL=<IMPORTER_BASE_URL> --transport stdio gl-importer-mcp -- npx -y @cloudbusiness/gl-importer-mcpWhat gl-importer-mcp does
This server gives an agent access to Synder Importer API operations. It can help identify a company and importable record types, work with field mappings, start an import, and inspect its outcome. A combined CSV workflow previews the proposed mapping first; the import runs after confirmation.
The available tools cover companies, settings, saved mappings, and import management, including status checks, cancellation, and reversal. The server needs a Synder Importer API token in IMPORTER_API_TOKEN and Node.js 18 or newer. Without the token, API requests cannot be authenticated.
What it helps with
- import CSV records into QuickBooks Online or Xero
- check which record types a company accepts
- map file columns to accounting fields
- inspect an import's status and results
- cancel or reverse an incorrect import
Example prompts for the agent
- Import
march-bills.csvas bills into my QuickBooks company, and show me a preview first. - Find out which record types I can import into Xero.
- Review my recent imports and identify the ones that failed.
