DeepLedger QuickBooks — Claude Code MCP Server Setup
Links QuickBooks Online to AI agents for tracking bills, reconciling bank feeds, and running reports. Useful for delegating routine accounting tasks to chat.
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.deepledger.ai/mcpWhat DeepLedger QuickBooks MCP Server for ChatGPT, Claude & AI does
This server connects your QuickBooks Online company to an AI coding assistant using a remote HTTP endpoint. The agent inspects historical vendor records, verifies duplicates before posting entries, and logs receipts or journal transactions. Whenever an entry seems ambiguous, the model avoids random guesses and files a task for manual review in the web app.
The infrastructure runs in the cloud. Communication flows through https://mcp.deepledger.ai/mcp using Streamable HTTP, so local helper scripts are unnecessary. The agent retrieves task-specific bookkeeping workflows dynamically from the server via a built-in getGuide tool.
The integration fails immediately without an active QuickBooks company linked inside your DeepLedger account. Intuit login credentials are not exposed to the plugin because authentication relies on standard Intuit OAuth.
What it helps with
- record vendor bills and outgoing payments without creating duplicates
- process bank feed items using past vendor categorization
- prepare account reconciliations against bank statement balances
- generate comparative income statements for period reviews
Example prompts for the agent
- Check which QuickBooks organization is currently connected.
- Log an invoice of 450 dollars from AWS for cloud hosting with net 15 terms.
- Generate an income statement for the previous quarter compared to the one before.
