What hamir does

The server exposes hamir's curated feed directory over HTTP at https://hamir.app/mcp without authentication tokens. It equips agents with eight tools covering headline searches, source discovery, curated bundles, and top news stories.

It operates strictly in read-only fashion. Hamir never supplies the full text of articles. Tool outputs contain only titles, dates, source names, links, and occasional short summaries when permitted by publishers. Result counts are capped per request.

When bookmarking via save_articles, the server creates a single link for up to 50 items with personal notes, requiring manual confirmation inside the app. A desktop bridge bundle (hamir.mcpb) also lets you configure language preferences and error reporting through environment variables.

What it helps with

  • search articles across hamir's indexed RSS feeds
  • inspect recent coverage from a specific news outlet or blog
  • identify stories tracked by multiple publications today
  • generate a confirmation link to bookmark up to 50 articles

Example prompts for the agent

  • Find recent articles about renewable energy in hamir
  • Which stories are most news outlets reporting on today?
  • List hamir source packs covering artificial intelligence
