Employed by Guaq AI — Claude Code MCP server: job search in chat
Wires your agent into a live job index built from employer boards, so you can search roles, build a profile and track applications without leaving the chat.
claude mcp add --transport http employed https://jobs.guaqai.me/mcpWhat Employed by Guaq AI does
This MCP server sits between your agent and the Employed by Guaq AI service, which indexes openings found on employer applicant-tracking boards such as Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby and SmartRecruiters. Each result points at the employer's own apply page. Search tools include search_jobs, count_jobs, get_job, list_companies, company_profile and market_signal; account tools cover get_my_profile, update_my_profile, get_my_feed, list_my_applications, track_job and more. You can turn a CV into a profile from inside the conversation.
Five skills ship with it. employed-jobs supplies the filter vocabulary — domain, seniority, location, work mode, tech, visa signal. job-search-from-resume builds a ranked shortlist from your background. employer-research shows what a given company hires for. hiring-market-brief sizes demand for a skill, role or city. application-tracker keeps a Markdown or CSV tracker you own. Two agents (job-search-agent, employer-research-agent) and three slash commands (/employed:find-jobs, /employed:company, /employed:market) come along on hosts that support them.
Sign-in goes through an Employed account with browser OAuth; hosts without OAuth take an API key from your profile page instead. The npx -y employed-mcp route needs GUAQ_API_KEY set, or it will not start. There are no hooks, and nothing in the bundle executes code locally.
What it helps with
- find roles matching your level and stack without trawling boards by hand
- turn a resume into a ranked shortlist of openings
- check what a company is hiring for right now
- gauge demand for a skill, role or city from live postings
- keep an application tracker in Markdown or CSV from the chat
Example prompts for the agent
- Which companies are hiring Rust engineers remotely?
- Here is my resume. What should I apply to?
